Makes up for a lost pie safe, right?

So Thursday, I drove all the way to Littlefield, Texas ( and by all the way I mean 24 miles) to an estate sale hunting a pie safe. When I arrived, a lady was loading up the pie safe and pulling out of the drive. I was so disappointed, especially because it was painted a cute vintage buttery yellow, had glass doors, and looked to be everything a girl could want from a pie safe. So I vowed to make a successful weekend of the apparent mass mortality rate here in Hockley County and hit the estate sales all over town. So here was my haul: milk crate $2, misc. silver serving pieces $8, assorted vintage bowls $12, super fab green glass salt and pepper shakers $6, perfectly semetrical broach $5

The little display table I got at a garage sale a couple doors down for $2, and I plan to shabby chic it all up for my bedroom!
All the glassware came from an estate sale that will have a 50% off sale tomorrow. They had loads of Depression Glass that I could hardly walk away from so I will most likely return in the morning, and hopefully come home with some more loot. Including a piece from a "Georgia" collection! Who'd of thought? I think I might go back and get it this afternoon!
I got some other misc. serving dishes, nothing too fancy, but will be fun to dress up for guests and holidays.

Now for the rest of the story, Georgia acquired a fab vintage baby doll with Dolly Parton hair and eyes that open and close, and Ryeton got a Tarzan book, Anson was on the hunt this morning for a monster truck and had no luck. He had a total melt down when we got home, and I was so sad for him, complete "garbage sale" letdown. What a sad life for a 4 year old! I kind of know how he felt, I remember having a pie safe slip through my hands a few days ago, total letdown.
